design in a bag^® was created by Rebekah Zaveloff, CKD and John “Nick” Nichols, her husband and business partner in 2009. Not surprisingly, the idea for design in a bag^® came from spending countless hours in people’s kitchens, spreading samples on countertops and tables and helping clients discover finishes that reflected their sense of style. This is a process that many people struggle with, particularly when confronted with the thousands of choices available today, scattered in locations across the country. So the idea was simple, to create selections of finishes, across different design aesthetics, available online to anyone looking to simplify this process; to save endless hours searching in far flung locations; to have design recipes of finishes which work well together, choices for the busy homeowner as a first, but vital step in beginning the kitchen design process.
